I am sure that 2020 was a year that nobody would forget, and none of us was able to carry out everything in life as planned. No matter how much stability and security we had until then, or how flexible we think we were, somehow somewhere we must have faced some kind of unknown and unexpectedness in our life.
In this piece of Entura Art I drew in September 2020, I was tuning into the energy of what was the focus of my life at that moment. I cannot explain how much this painting has been serving as a great reminder to me when I was dealing with different challenges in life since I drew it.
The path on the right is the path of the known. The trees are all nicely organized on the path, and their growth are being well controlled. The path is very certain. Yes, it was my path – my very organized and structured life and work. Don’t get me wrong, there was absolutely nothing wrong with that. Whether comfortable or not, I was living in a comfort zone. Thinking back, my life was “nothing new but nothing wrong.”
The yellow drop represents the present moment, reminding me to stay in the present. With all the changes in my personal life and some decisions to make during the time, I was shown that I should walk from the path of the known on the right to the path of the unknown, where there is no path. However, new consciousness, represented by the red blood drops is birthed. The golden and white whirls show me the new free movements. The trees on the other side are of different colours, and they are so much stronger and bigger too. With wisdom and discernment, I can still maintain the organization and structure in life.
I still refer to this painting when I am in doubt or when I have hesitation and held back regarding my next steps. I have to walk from the known to the unknown with faith, trust and confidence. It has proven to me that the unknown is where the new possibilities are! It is what makes life fun, exciting and adventurous, and this is what life is about!
